Heart-Pounding

Most of us have realized that life can be reminiscent of a long, bumpy, twisty, heart-pounding rollercoaster ride you were forced to take. Or maybe you like that kind of thing, but I don’t know. I like some coaster rides, but others look like a surefire reason for my heart to jump out of my chest. Think about the last time you approached one. As you moved closer, maybe you looked up in fear at the height of the coaster, then happily noticed that there were some valleys or dips in the track that looked way more blissful. Then you rationalized. You tried to psych yourself into thinking about it more like a convertible car ride where the wind would whip through your hair and your favorite song would pipe through the speakers. Much better. Then, moving closer to the que, you saw the warning signs about height requirements, strong, sudden dips and the record-breaking speed of the coaster and suddenly, your heart pounded. It’s an adrenaline rush - do you fight or do you take flight? Is it worth the challenge? Will I get a break during the valleys? A high during the peaks? Shit, will I throw up along the way? Then, at the end…what happens? [This is where you get contemplative.] Seriously, what happens?

Because it’s life, the most sure answer to all these question is “Yes, and…”. Where does this metaphor apply in your life right now?

For me, it’s with Due Justice. But, I’m finally ready to fly. Welcome. <3
